The cooling-fan power cable
is disconnected, or the cool-
ing fan is faulty. Ensure that the fan is connected to the FAN con-
nector on the system board. If the problem
persists, the fan must be replaced.

System configuration

A chip on the system board
may be malfunctioning. Run the System Set tests in system diagnostics.
See the chapter titled “Running the Diskette-
Based Diagnostics” in your Diagnostics and
Troubleshooting Guide. A faulty chip on the sys-
tem board usually requires that you replace the
system board.
System memory size has
changed - Run Configu-
ration Utility
DIMM memory may have
been added or removed, or
one or more DIMMs may be
improperly seated or faulty. Run the EISA Configuration Utility (see the
chapter titled “Using the EISA Configuration
Utility”). Remove and reseat the DIMMs. (See
“Removing a DIMM” and “Installing a DIMM”
in Chapter 7.) If the problem persists, run the
RAM Test Group in the system diagnostics. See
the chapter titled “Running the Diskette-Based
Diagnostics” in your Diagnostics and Trouble-
shooting Guide for instructions.
