Remove the thermal cooling assembly (see

Remove the memory module (see

Remove the WLAN card (see

12.
Disconnect the right daughter board cable from the connector on the system board (see
Removing the Right Daughter Board
).
13.
Disconnect the left daughter board cable from the connector on the system board (see
Removing the Left Daughter Board
).
14.
Make note of the cable routing and the tape placement. Disconnect the following cables from their corresponding connectors on the system board:
l
thermal fan cable
—
pull the cable away from the connector
l
display cable
—
lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
l
left I/O board cable
—
lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector
l
battery power cable
—
pull the cable away from the connector
l
AC adapter power cable
—
pull the cable away from the connector
l
right I/O board cable
—
lift the tab and pull the cable away from the connector

Remove the two screws that secure the system board to the computer base.

To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal

To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see
) before working inside
the computer.

CAUTION:
Handle components and cards by their edges, and avoid touching pins and contacts.
