Main Menu
Video Format
Throughout the world there are two main video systems; NTSC and PAL. NTSC stands for National Television System
Committee, and is used in parts of North America and Japan. PAL stands for Phase Altering Line and it is used in
European countries. The DVR is automatically set to NTSC as DEFENDER® distributes DVRs primarily within
North America.
Changing the VIDEO FORMAT:
1. Select the VIDEO FORMAT drop down list and choose NTSC or PAL.
2. Click APPLY at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
3. The system will restart with you new settings.
Menu Time Out
Allows you to set how long your menu screen is visible during moments
of inactivity.
Setting the MENU TIME OUT:
1. Select the MENU TIME OUT drop down list and choose 30 sec, 1 min,
2 min, 5min, 10min or OFF.
2. Click APPLY at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
Users Tab
The Users Tab allows for the setup of 7 different users on the DVR. You can also customize their username, password,
and permission levels. Permission levels include the ability to change settings, view cameras, and footage.
Password and Permission Setup
The default username is admin and the default password is 123456.
Setting the ADMIN PASSWORD:
1. Click the SEL box to the right of the No. 1 line. It should be set to
ADMIN by default.
2. Click the EDIT button and a box will appear.
3. Left click in the box next to USERNAME and a keyboard will appear.
4. Enter the specific username then click the ENTER key
5. To enable password protection, click the PASSWORD ENABLE drop
down list and choose ENABLE.
6. Left click in the box next to PASSWORD, a keyboard will appear.
7. Enter the password then click the ENTER key
.
8. Left click in the box next to CONFIRM, a keyboard will appear.
9. Enter the same password then click the ENTER key
10. Click APPLY at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
