CONNECTIONS
Relay outputs
The product has 3 embedded potential free 16A bistable relays. The relays has a PDT
contact where the center conductor alternates from right to left when the
relay is activated.
At loads above 16A external contactors must be used. Inductive loads are also
controlled by external contactors.
The relays are controlled by pressing the corresponding button you want to check on
the product’s front panel, or by the end user via the remote interface. The relay outputs
may be used to control electrical equipment.
Temperature inputs
The product has 3 inputs for temperature sensors. Every single relay output can be
thermostatically controlled based on the temperature reading (Thermostat Mode).
Temperature sensor 1 controls relay 1, sensor 2 controls relay 2, etc.
Alternatively, the temperature inputs are used for pure reading of temperature without
any impact on the relays (switch mode).
The cable to the temperature sensor should be drawn with 230V cords as this can
interfere with the reading of the temperature.
Extension modules
The product has an extension connection contact “EXT” for communication with
external rail mounted DEFA modules, eg. “Base Unit PRO Ext.” These modules extend
the functionality of the product with additional relay outputs, temperature inputs, alarm
