To change the mapping mode:
1.
Type: tier changemap

Then enter the appropriate mapping mode. Use Mapping Mode 0 for SF6016 and
SF6012 enclosures.

NOTE : If you have other types of drive enclosures, select Tier Mapping Mode 0. The
S2A9550 might be able to monitor the status of your enclosures; however, DataDirect
Networks is unable to guarantee compatibility with unqualified third party devices.
2.3.7 Verifying Connections for SF6016 Enclosures
If you are using the SF6016 drive enclosures, it is necessary to verify the connections of
the enclosures that are currently attached to the system, so that SES can accurately
indicate a drive fault through SES commands. Please refer to Section C.3 and perform
all the steps described before proceeding to the next section.
2.3.8 Checking Tier Status and Configuration
Use the
tier
command to display your current tier status. Figure 2-7 illustrates the status
of a system containing 80 drives on 8 tiers with both parity modes of 8+1 and 8+2 tiers.
The plus sign (+) adjacent to the tier number indicates that the tier is in 8+2 mode.
