To set the current gateway in the network routing table to the specified Internet address, use the
command:
ROUTE GATEWAY=<aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd>
. The gateway is where IP datagrams are routed
when there is no specific routing table entry available for the destination IP network or host. If an
empty gateway value is provided, then the current gateway is cleared.
3.2.5
Restarting the S2A9550
3.2.5.1
System Restart
The
RESTART
command performs a restart on the S2A9550 on which the command is issued. This
command prepares the system to be restarted. The system halts all I/O requests and saves the data
to the disks before restarting. The restart process may take several minutes to complete.
When you change the S2A9550’s IP address, for example, you must restart the S2A9550 to initialize
the new values. Any changes you make will not take effect until you perform a restart.
NOTE :
If cache coherency is enabled, restarting an
S2A9550
unit will cause the partner
S2A9550
to fail
the unit. Once the reboot is complete, you will have to heal the
S2A9550
unit.
To delay a restart of a unit between 0 and 255 minutes, use the command (where x is minutes
delayed):
RESTART DELAY=X.
To restart both units, use the command:
RESTART DUAL.
To stop a timed restart that is in progress, use the command:
RESTART KILL.
3.2.5.2
System Shutdown
The
SHUTDOWN
command shuts down the S2A9550 on which the command is issued.
If you need to power down the S2A9550, use
SHUTDOWN
prior to shutting off the power. This will
cause the S2A9550 to immediately flush their cache, abort all format and rebuild operations, and
proceed with an orderly shutdown.
All hosts and users actively using the S2A9550 should be safely shutdown before using this command.
The S2A9550 will halt all I/O requests and save the data to the disks. It will then ask if the disks should
be spundown. Disks should be spundown before they are moved. The unit can be safely turned off
after using this command.
NOTE :
Be sure to use Shutdown whenever you need to power down the
S2A9550
for maintenance.
Shutdown flushes any data left in the cache and prepares the
S2A9550
for an orderly shutdown. For
couplet
S2A9550
configuration, issue command to both
S2A9550
s.
To perform a hard restart of the unit by cycling the power, use the command:
SHUTDOWN
RESTART=X,
where x is a number between 1 and 127 seconds before the unit powers up again. If the
number is not specified, default is 15 seconds.
NOTE :
If SHUTDOWN RESTART is used in conjunction with the DUAL parameter, the restart will only
affect unit it is issued on and not both.
To delay a shutdown of a unit between 0 and 255 minutes, use the command (where x is minutes
delayed):
SHUTDOWN DELAY=X
