Manage Groups
You use “groups” to organize your buddies, much like you use folders to organize your email and SMS messages.
You can create new groups, rename existing groups, and discard existing groups. Note, however, that you
cannot discard the “system” group,
Offline
.
Add a Group
To add a new group to your Buddy List, do the following while in the IM application:

If your Buddy List isn’t displayed, press
Menu
then
select
Buddy List
.

Scroll to highlight one of the existing groups, then press
Menu
and
select
New Group...
The New Group
dialog box opens:

Type the new group
Name
.

Select
Done
. The group is added to your list.
Rename a Group
Once you’ve created a group, you can change the group’s name:

If your Buddy List isn’t displayed, press
Menu
then
select
Buddy List
.

Scroll to highlight one of the existing groups, then press
Menu
and
select
Rename...
[

]. The
Rename Group dialog box opens:

Edit the new group
Name
.

Select
Done
. The group is displayed with its new name on your Buddy List.
Discard a Group
You can discard any of the groups you’ve created (along with the Buddies in that group). You cannot, however,
discard the Offline group, which has a special status as a “system group”.

Scroll to highlight the group you wish to discard.

then select
Discard

]. A confirmation dialog opens.

If you’re sure you want to remove this group and all its contents (buddies), select
Discard
. Note that if you
discard the buddies, they will be removed from your Buddy List altogether.
Otherwise, to cancel the action and keep the buddy on your list, press
Cancel
.
