(Pump Application Ramp Profiles)
Introduction
In this lab you will set up a VLT Aqua drive to provide a customized ramp profile
for submersible pump applications. The pump needs to get to minimum speed in
order to begin lubricating the bearings and moving water. From the initial speed
until the “PID Start Speed” the drive will follow its normal ramp time. Once it
reaches the “PID Start Speed” it will start looking at the feedback and regulating
pressure. When the pump is commanded to stop it will follow the normal ramp
down time until it reaches the minimum speed. Somewhere between minimum
speed and zero speed, a check valve will seat. There is another programmable
ramp time that allows the check valve to seat softly.
