Now you need to program and wire your start command.
Go to parameter 5-10. This parameter defines the function of
digital input 18. Notice that the default setting is programmed
to “start”, so no programming change is necessary. Switch
S1 from your control box should be connected to DI 18 on the drive.
This switch will act as the start command.
Analog input 53 is set up as the default reference resource. Verify this by going to parameter
3-15. Next, you will need to scale the terminal to the desired settings. This is achieved using
parameters 6-10 - 6-14. We would like 0 volts to represent 0 Hz and 10 volts to represent 60
Hz. Use the chart below to help you set this up.
These are default settings after changing parameter 0-
02 to “North America”.
Potentiometer #1 (AI53) on the control box will act as your SCADA 0-10 volt control signal.
Verify that the potentiometer is working by going to parameter 16-62 and watching the voltage
in the display. It should range from 0 to 10 volts as you turn the dial.
To check if your inputs are wired correctly, use the “Main Menu” key to go to parameter 16-60.
As you close the switch connected to the input, or apply voltage to it, the bit that represents
that input will change from a 0 to a 1 if it is working correctly.
