Hardware Overview
Wi-Fi Mode and 3G Mode
The DWR-112 features a hardware switch on the side of the device that enables you to switch between Wi-Fi mode
and 3G mode.
Wi-Fi Mode
In Wi-Fi mode, the DWR-112 acts like a normal router; you connect your Internet connection(such as your cable
modem or DSL modem) to Port 1, and the DWR-112 then shares this connection with other PCs and devices
connected to Ports 2-4 or connected wirelessly.
Plugging in a 3G USB adapter allows you to use 3G failover, where the router will automatically switch to your 3G
connection in case your WAN connection(cable/DSL modem) is interrupted or goes down. This helps ensure that
you have a working Internet connection at all times.
3G Mode
When the DWR-112 is in 3G mode, the DWR-112 acts like a mobile modem and router; you connect a 3G USB
adapter, and your mobile Internet connection is shared with other PCs and devices connected to Ports 1-4 or
connected wirelessly.
Wi-Fi Mode / 3G Mode Switch
Use this switch to select either Wi-Fi
mode or 3G mode.
