DFL-500 network connections
Configuring your internal network
If you are running the DFL-500 in NAT/Route mode, your internal network must be configured to route all
internet traffic to the address of the internal interface of the DFL-500. This means changing the default
gateway address of all computers and routers connected directly to the internal network.
If you are using the DFL-500 as the DHCP server for your internal network, configure the computers on your
internal network for DHCP. Use the internal address of the DFL-500 as the DHCP server IP address.
Once the DFL-500 is connected, make sure it is functioning properly by connecting to the Internet from a
computer on your internal network. You should be able to connect to any Internet address.
Completing the configuration
Use the information in this section to complete the initial configuration of the DFL-500.
Setting the date and time
For effective scheduling and logging, the DFL-500 date and time should be accurate. You can either manually
set the DFL-500 time or you can configure the DFL-500 to automatically keep its time correct by
synchronizing with a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
To set the DFL-500 date and time, see
