enable pvid auto_assign
Purpose
Used to enable auto assignment of PVID.
Syntax
enable pvid auto_assign
Description
This command enables the auto-assign of PVID. When this is enabled, PVID will be possibly
changed by PVID or VLAN configuration. When user configures a port to VLAN
X
’s untagged
membership, this port’s PVID will be updated with VLAN X. In the form of VLAN list
command, PVID is updated with last item of VLAN list. When user removes a port from the
untagged membership of the PVID’s VLAN, the port’s PVID will be assigned with “default
VLAN”. The default setting is
enabled
.

Restrictions
Only Administrator, Operator and Power-User-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To enable the auto-assign PVID:
DES-3528:admin# enable pvid auto_assign
Command: enable pvid auto_assign
Success.

disable pvid auto_assign
Purpose
Used to disable auto assignment of PVID.
Syntax
disable pvid auto_assign
Description
This command disables the auto-assign of PVID. When it is disabled, PVID only be changed
by PVID configuration (user changes explicitly). The VLAN configuration will not
automatically change PVID. The default setting is
enabled
.
