Chapter 4: Maintenance
WARNING
All service and maintenance must be performed by maintenance or service
personnel.
Guidelines for Inspecting the 110WX Sensor (Weather Station)
The following information is provided by AIRMAR Technology Corp.
CAUTION
Do not disassemble the Weather Station sensor. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside. Removing the three screws holding the lower housing will damage the
waterproof seal, voiding the warranty.
CAUTION
Do not immerse in water or pressure wash. Doing so may allow water to infiltrate the
Weather Station sensor, voiding the warranty.
CAUTION
The reflector plate and the waterproof film found in the wind channel of the Weather
Station sensor are essential to its operation. The waterproof film protects the
transducers, so be careful to keep it intact. Do not to scratch the reflector plate or
damage it in any way.
IMPORTANT: Keep the wind channel free of spider webs, insects, dirt, and other debris. Keep the tem-
perature and humidity sensors clean.
Cleaning
Since the Weather Station sensor has no moving parts, it requires minimal maintenance. Clean with a
damp cloth and mild household detergent. Gently thread an alcohol wipe through the wind channel to
remove spider webs and any debris.
Inspection
• Ensure that the unit is mounted securely and cannot be moved relative to the mounting surface. If
the unit is loose, tighten the mounting screws.
• Verify the security of the cable connected to the rain sensor enclosure by a cable gland and tighten
if necessary.
NOTE: The humidity sensor has an average life expectancy of 5-6 years according to the EDGE 110WX
Weather Station environment.
