Connecting the Rain Sensor to the Weather Station
The terminals inputs used for the rain sensor RG-11 are named IN4 and GND4. The GND4 Input is the
GND return of the sensor. A 15Vdc output is provided by the EDGE Weather Station to the rain sensor by
the terminals outputs 15V and GND.
What You Should Know
• Disconnect the power supply before servicing.
• A minimum wire gauge of 22 AWG (diameter of 0.64 mm or cross sectional area of 0.32 mm 2 ) is
required for a proper operation of the system. The maximum cable length allowed is 30 m (98 feet).
The cable must be twisted and shielded. The cable is provided by the factory.
• Sensors that require a DC supply can use 15 VDC outputs. Ensure that the 15 VDC returns are
close to each 15 VDC output. The maximum total current of all 15 VDC is 330 mA.
WARNING
Installation must be performed by qualified service personnel.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that each sensor is connected to the proper GND. False alarms can result if the
wires are not properly connected.
1. Make sure the dipswitches are set to factory default positions.
