Note - If the ‘n’ field in this message is non-zero, the status data
message output by the GBX may interrupt the flow of RTCM
messages to the GPS receiver. Re-power the GBX to stop the
output of the $CRMSS message, or re-tune the GBX with the ‘n’
field set to zero.
5.3.1.3 Automatic Beacon Search Command ($GPMSK)
When in GBx, Bx, or Bx-E mode, this command initiates the GBX
automatic mode of operation in which the receiver operates without
operator intervention, selecting the most appropriate beacon station.
This command has the following format:
$GPMSK,,A1,,A2,n<CR><LF>
Response:
$PCSI,ACK,GPMSK,,A,,A,n<CR><LF>
Field Description
A Designates automatic frequency selection
A Designates automatic MSK bit rate selection
n Period of output of performance status message, 0 to 100 seconds ($CRMSS)
The GBX provides the above response to this variety of $GPMSK
message, and immediately tunes to the optimum beacon station in
automatic mode, provided a valid beacon almanac is present in
receiver memory. Without a valid almanac, the beacon receiver will
perform a Global Search to identify candidate stations in the area,
followed by the acquisition phase of the initial search.
When power to the GBX is removed and reapplied, the status output
interval resets to zero (no output). The status message output by the
GBX, as initiated using this command, is the CRMSS message
response discussed in Section 5.4.1.2.
