The GBX-PRO will only recognize RTCM correction input on pin 8
when the receiver is operating in Gx-E mode as discussed in the
following chapter. In other modes of operation, the GBX-PRO will
ignore input on pin 8 to prevent internal data conflicts arising from an
internal and external correction source.
The output from the G12’s secondary port (Port B) is available on pin 6
regardless of the mode of operation of the GBX-PRO. You may
configure it using the commands noted in Chapter 4, GPS NMEA 0183
Messages.
The CSI Wireless ‘Y’ Data Cable, PN 051-0009-000, may be used to
access the transmit line of the G12 secondary serial port. It also
provides external corrections to the G12, when operating the GBX-PRO
in Gx-E mode. Refer to Section 2.6.4 for pin-out information on this
cable.
2.5 Installing the MGL-3 Antenna
The following sections provide antenna installation details and
information on various mounting options available.

Choose a location with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky.
•
Choose a location that is at least three feet away from all forms of
transmitting antennas and communication equipment.
•
The position calculated by the GBX is measured to the center of the CDA-1
antenna. Install the antenna in the best location for your application, such
as the centerline of your vehicle or vessel.
•
Do not locate the antenna where environmental conditions exceed those
specified in Section 2.3.2.
2.5.1 Antenna Placement To Optimize Reception
Selecting an appropriate location for installation of the beacon antenna
will greatly influence the performance of the GBX combination
GPS/Beacon receiver. The following list provides some general
