MEASURE
• Output shaft swing
a. Temporary install the gearcase .
. rap a rag aroun a screw ri er
, and
then insert it into the installation hole
of the
right crankcase spee sensor to hol the
mi le ri en gear.
c. Attach the gear lash measurement tool
an ial gauge
.

. Measure the gear lash while rotating the
output shaft ack an forth.
NOTE
Measure the gear lash at 4 positions. Rotate
the middle driven gear 90° each time.

INSTALL

a. Place a rag

in the ise.
. ecure the earing housing e ge in the ise.
c. Attach the earing retainer wrench

. Tighten the earing retainer.
CAUTION:
The middle driven shaft bearing retainer has
left-handed threads. To tighten the retainer,
turn it counterclockwise.
