WARNiNG
Place all controls in neutral or off, lower header to the
ground, stop combine engine, set parking brake, re-
move ignition key, chock wheels and wait for all moving
parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, repairing, or
unplugging.
iMPORTANT
Correct shaft alignment is critical.
NOTE
There should be approximately 3 inches of shaft pro-
truding from the right side of the bearing mount bracket.
This is needed to attach the driveline.
Figure 19, Bearing mount bracket
Refer to Figure 27 for the following steps:
Slide the small gearbox shaft into the gearbox. When
doing so, install a 5/16” key and bushing on each side
of the gearbox.
Slide a drive sprocket on each end of the gearbox
shaft. Install the sprockets with roll pins and tighten
the set screws.
Install the bearing mount bracket on the beam to the
right of the gearbox. Use existing holes in the beam
to install the bottom two 1/2” x 4” bolts. Mark and drill
a hole in the front of the beam for the 1/2” x 1” bolt
(Figure 26).
Slide the long gearbox drive shaft through the bear-
ing mount bracket and OEM bearing mount. When
installing the shaft, slide it through the long drive shaft
shield tube.
Install a drive sprocket on the left end of the long drive
shaft. Attach it with a roll pin and tighten the set screw.
Install a double roller chain on the long drive shaft
sprocket and right gearbox sprocket.
Attach the bearing, flangettes and shield mount plate
assembly to the bearing mount bracket. The assembly
is held together with 3/8” x 1” carriage bolts.
Slide the provided auger/sickle drive shaft through
the bearing at the LH end of the header. Next, slip
the short drive shaft shield over the auger/sickle drive
shaft. Then, attach a drive sprocket to the RH end of
the drive shaft.
Install a double roller chain on the auger/sickle shaft
sprocket and left gearbox sprocket.
Reinstall the header auger and sickle drive using the
shaft from Step 7.

Check for shaft alignment up & down and front & back.
Tighten the bolts securing the gearbox mounting plate
to the gearbox and the bolts securing the gearbox
mounting plate to the mount support plate. Then,
tighten the gearbox taperlock bushings. Install a shield
weldment on each side of the gearbox with 1/2” x 1”
bolts and torque to 75 ft-lbs.
Tighten the lock collar on the bearing. Insert a punch
in the collar dimple. Tap the collar in the direction of
shaft rotation to lock. Then, tighten the lock collar set
screw.
Insert a 5/16” X 1-1/2” key into keyway at the right
end of the long gearbox shaft. Slide the clutch end of
the PTO driveline onto the gearbox shaft and tighten
set screws.
Slide the slip clutch shield over the PTO driveline and
fasten to the shield mount plate using the 5/16” X 3/4”
bolts.
