11. Light Kit Assembly.
If you have not already attached the switch
housing plate to the motor housing, follow
instructions on page 8 (“Switch Housing
Assembly”) to do so, (
diagram a
).
Punch center cap out of switch housing with a
screwdriver.
Locate
BLACK
(or
BLUE
) and
WHITE
wires in switch
housing labeled FOR LIGHT. Remove and discard
plastic that holds these 2 wires together.
Remove hex nut and lock washer from the
threaded rod on the top part of the light kit fitter.
Gently feed wires from light kit fitter (one by one)
through center hole in switch housing. Screw
switch housing onto threaded rod at top of light kit
fitter followed by lock washer and hex nut. Tighten
hex nut over lock washer for a secure fit.
IMPORTANT
: When threading the light kit fitter
into the bottom of the switch housing, pay close
attention that the pull chain on the swith housing
does not become tangled on the light kit fitter
sockets.
Connect
WHITE
wire from switch housing to
WHITE
wire from light kit fitter. Connect
BLUE
(or
BLACK
) wire from switch housing to
BLACK
wire
from light kit fitter. Make sure that molex
connections snap together securely.
Connect male plug from motor housing to female
plug from switch housing, matching up the colors
on the male plugs with the colors on the female
plug for correct fit. Make sure that plugs connect
completely.
Align holes in switch housing with holes in switch
housing plate. Re-insert 4 switch housing screws
that were previously removed and use a Phillips
screwdriver to secure all screws.
