On a car bicycle carrier
An electric bicycle is a good deal heavier than a normal
one. Take note of the maximum weight that your bicycle
carrier is designed for. You should always remove the battery
before transporting the bicycle. That will also make it easier
to lift the bicycle onto the carrier. Use a bicycle carrier with
a fastener on the frame. That is safer and more stable than
fastening on the cranks.
–
Always use an approved carrier.
–
Remove parts that could come off, such as a wind
shield, child seat, water bottle.
–
Check that everything is still firmly fastened and
undamaged when you arrive at your destination.
–
If the bicycle carrier does not have its own lights,
make sure that the bicycle or the bicycle carrier does
not block the vehicle's lights.
In the train
You can usually take the bicycle on the train, but not at all
times and in any part of the train. Always check the train
company's conditions before getting on the train.
On a flight
Electric bicycles are usually subject to the same conditions
as those for a normal bicycle. The battery comes under the
rules for transporting hazardous substances. Contact the
airline for the exact rules.
By charging the battery completely, you remove it from
sleep mode.
When a battery has not been used for more than 30 days
whilst it was not in sleep mode, the battery needs to be fully
charged first before it can be used again.
Child seats and trailers
It is possible to fit a child seat or a trailer to the bicycle.
Not all child seats and trailers can be used. This should be
discussed with the dealer. It is important to note that fitting a
child seat or trailer will reduce the action radius.
