4.2 Deleting Wireless WaterSiren Sensors:
Deleting a sensor properly requires that you delete the sensor from the Base Station’s
memory and cancel the wireless connection of the sensor to the Base Station. Follow
the procedure below to delete a sensor.
1.
Put the base station in “STANDBY” mode by moving the toggle switch
on the front of the Base Station to STANDBY.
2.
Plug a phone into the “Program Phone” jack on the front of the Base
Station.
3.
Pick up the handset of the program phone and press 2 to access the
Programming Menu.
4.
From the Programming Menu, press 2 to “Review or Program Sensors”.
5.
Press 2 to “Delete a sensor”.
6.
The following message will play: “
Enter sensor number to delete followed
by the pound key.
” Enter the sensor number (1 through 10), followed by
the pound (#) key.
7.
If the Base Station has this sensor in its memory, you will hear the
following message: “
Sensor XX found. To delete, press 1. To return to
the previous menu, press 9
”.
8.
To confirm the deletion, press 1. The following message will play,
“
Sensor number XX is now deleted
”. You will then be returned to the
previous menu.
9.
To delete the communication between the sensor and the Base Station,
press and hold the “JOIN/TEST” button on the deleted sensor for 30
seconds. The indicator light will flash red/green during this time and then
after 30 seconds, it will flash red, indicating this sensor is no longer
“joined” to the Base Station.
10.
Move the toggle switch to the ON position.
Note: Simply removing the batteries from a sensor does not delete it. If the batteries
are removed and you have not deleted the sensor from the Base Station, the Base
Station will think the sensor is not communicating and it will call you with an alarm
condition.
5.0 OTHER INSTALLATION NOTES
5.1 Answering Machines at the Call-To Locations:
If you have an answering machine or voice mail at any of the call-to locations, the
Wireless WaterAlarm will generally leave some portion of its alarm message on the
answering machine or voice mail. You may want to test this as some answering
systems will not pick up the message. Answering machines and voice mail will not
affect or stop the call-out sequence in any way.
5.2 Extending the Phone Cord Length:
You may use a longer telephone extension cable to place the Wireless WaterAlarm unit
further from the available telephone jack. The Wireless WaterAlarm has been tested to
operate on an indoor phone line with a length of up to 1,000 feet (304m).
