Operation Mode
Set the counter operation mode.
2-phase input is two pulse inputs, A-phase (a lead signal) and B-phase (a lag signal) that differ in
phase by 90 °.
When there is a Z-phase (position reference signal), the count value can be cleared to zero with a 2-
phase pulse input.
The count input multiplication can be controlled more precisely with the multiply by 2 mode or
multiply by 4 mode settings.
Synchronous Clear: In the case of CW (clockwise) direction up count and Z-phase positive logic, when
the B-phase input is Low and the Z-phase input is High, the count value is cleared to zero at the rise
of the A-phase. Counting starts at the rise of the A-phase after the Z-phase input becomes Low.
CPSN-CNT-3201I
[Setting]: 2-phase Input, Synchronous Clear, Multiply by 1,
2-phase Input, Synchronous Clear, Multiply by 2,
2-phase Input, Synchronous Clear, Multiply by 4,
2-phase Input, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 1,
2-phase Input, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 2,
2-phase Input, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 4,
Single-phase Input, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 1,
Single-phase Input with Gate Control, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 1,
Single-phase Input with Gate Control, Asynchronous Clear, Multiply by 2
[Default]: 2-phase Input, Synchronous Clear, Multiply by 1
Count Direction
Set the count direction.
When this is set in the clockwise direction, count-up is performed at the rising edge of the UP pulse.
CPSN-CNT-3201I
[Setting]: CW direction Down-count, CW direction Up-count
[Default]: CW direction Up-count
Phase-Z Operation Mode
Set the phase-Z operation mode. The phase-Z is a signal used to clear the count values to zero (CLR
input). The number of phase-Z inputs can be specified.
CPSN-CNT-3201I
[Setting]: Disable phase-Z, Only the next phase-Z input is enabled once, Enable phase-Z always
[Default]: Only the next phase-Z input is enabled once
