b) Power supply
The following types can be selected as power supply:
1. Supply through a power pack (not in the scope of supply)
2. Supply through batteries
3. Combined supply through power pack and battery
In type 3, the batteries take over the power supply function in the event of failure of mains
supply. This mode is therefore very secure.

Inserting batteries
• Open the battery compartment on the rear of the appliance and insert four AA batteries,
maintaining correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-). Appropriate markings are provided in the battery
compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.
As already described in section 4. b), we recommend using high quality alkaline batteries.

Connecting the power pack
• Power supply to the alarm dialler can be provided through an external power pack (in addition to
the batteries or without inserted batteries).
A power pack supplying a stabilized DC of 7-12 V= and a current of at least 50 mA is required
(capacity of the power pack is max. 15VA). The plus contact must be connected to the inner
conductor, while the minus contact is connected to the outer side of the low voltage plug of the
power pack.
• If you wish to insert batteries in addition to the power pack operation (e.g. as emergency power
supply in the event of power failure), then proceed as described above.
• Connect the low voltage plug of the power pack to the low voltage socket on the alarm dialler. In
certain cases, an adaptor may be required (power pack plugs often have them). It is absolutely
necessary to maintain the correct polarity (plus contact to the inner contact!).
Then plug the power pack into a mains socket.
