Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety

instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!

We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect
handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.

•   Unauthorised conversion and/or modi

fi

cation of the product is not allowed for safety and

approval reasons (CE).

•  The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!

•   Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product emits only

relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of life-support systems. The
same may also apply to other areas.

•   The product must only be used in dry interiors, it must not get damp or wet.

•   Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous

plaything for children.

•   Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even

from a low height.

General Battery Instructions

•  Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
•   Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by children or pets.

If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.

•   Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable protective

gloves.

Liquids leaking from batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with

these liquids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store batteries in a suitable location.

•   Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a

fi

re. There is a risk of

explosion!

•  Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, due to risk of explosion!
•  Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.

compartment

Inserting/Replacing the Battery

Open the battery compartment (D) on the back of the hand-held radio transmitter and insert a type “23A”
battery with the correct polarity (observe imprint in the battery compartment or the

fi

 gure). Close the battery

compartment.
The batteries need to be replaced if the range of the hand-held radio transmitter is signi

fi

 cantly reduced or

the control-LED (A) no longer lights when the buttons are used.

Setting the Address Codes

One of the four address codes (I, II, III, IV) can be set on both the hand-held radio transmitter and the radio-
controlled switch socket. Therefore, up to four identical radio-controlled switch sets can be operated without
in

fl

 uencing each other.

Select one of the address codes (I, II, III, IV) on the hand-held radio transmitter via the sliding switch (C). Set
exactly the same address code on the radio-controlled switch socket(s).

If you set a different code on the hand-held radio transmitter and the radio- controlled switch

socket, the switch socket will not react to the switching commands on the hand-held radio trans-
mitter!

For the settings of the radio-controlled switch socket please refer to its operating instructions.

Operation

If you press the “ON” button of the corresponding switching channel (1, 2, 3 or 4), the respective radio-
controlled switch socket is activated.  The red control LED on the radio-controlled switch socket has to light
up and the load connected to it will be switched on.
The radio-controlled switch socket and the load connected to it are switched off using the “OFF” key of the
corresponding switching channel.
Please consult the instruction manual for further information on the radio-controlled switch socket.

Maintenance and Cleaning

The product is maintenance-free for you; never open/dismantle it (except for inserting/replacing the batteries
or rechargeable batteries as described in these operating instructions).
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solu-
tions since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the operation.

Range

The transmission range of the radio signals, between the hand-held transmitter and the radio-controlled
switch sockets, is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.

This value, however, is the so-called “open space range” (the range when the transmitter and

receiver are visible to each other, without disturbing in

fl

 uences).

In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms etc. between the transmitter
and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.

 Due to the different in

fl

uences on the radio transmission, no speci

fi

 c range can be guaranteed.

However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.

The range can sometimes be considerably reduced due to:
•  Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
•  Coated/metallised insulated glass
•  Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g. heating elements)
•  Proximity to human bodies
•   Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobiles, radio-controlled head-

phones, radio-controlled speakers, other radio-controlled weather stations, baby phones etc.)

•  Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
•  Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances

Disposal

a) General instructions

Please dispose of the device, when it is no longer of use, according to current statutory require-

ments.

Remove the inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.

b) Normal and Rechargeable Batteries

As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable
batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!

Batteries/rechargeable batteries that contain hazardous materials are labelled with the follow-

ing symbols to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols of the
relevant heavy metals are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=Mercury, Pb=Lead (name written on the battery/
rechargeable battery, e.g. under the rubbish bin symbol on the left).

You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the of

fi

 cial collection points of

your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold.
