LABELLING OBLIGATION ACCORDING TO THE
DRINKING WATER ORDINANCE
The latest drinking water ordinance of 03 May 2011 requires (section 16, para. 4) that treatment sub-
stances added to the drinking water must be recorded and documented weekly and that this documenta-
tion must be maintained available for a period of six months.
Independently of this duty of recording, consumers affected by the dosing must moreover be informed of
the treatment substances used (section 21, para. 1).

MATERIALS USED
The materials used are resistant to the physical, chemical and corrosive loads expected to be encountered
in drinking water and fulfil the specifications given in DIN 19635 (“Dosing systems for drinking water
treatment”). All materials are hygienically and physiologically harmless. Plastics contacted by drinking wa-
ter fulfil the KTW Guideline (Guideline for the Hygienic Assessment of Organic Materials in Contact with
Drinking water) of the German Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) and DVGW (German Technical and
Scientific Association for Gas and Water) working sheet W 270. Metallic materials fulfil the requirements
of DIN 50930-6 (Effect of metallic materials on the quality of drinking water).
4.4
DANGERS DUE TO NON-OBSERVATION
In detail, the non-observation of the general danger symbols is typically associated with the following haz-
ards:
/ Failure of important dosing pump functions,
/ Endangering of persons due to electrical and mechanical effects,
/ Endangering of persons and the environment due to leaks.
Any working methods that might endanger safety must be avoided.
Non-observation of these operating instructions and the safety instructions herein may endanger per-
sons, as well as the environment and the device itself.
