Switch (SW)

The reset or NMI function is selected by the setting of the Front Panel Reset and NMI Switch

jumper shown in Figure 2-3.

Selecting the Reset jumper position setting will cause the board to be reset when the front panel

switch is operated. If the board is in the System Controller Slot, it will also assert RST# on the

CompactPCI backplane and hence reset the other boards in the chassis. If the board is

operating as a Peripheral or Satellite, it will respond to front panel resets but will not reset the

other boards in the chassis.
Selecting the NMI jumper position setting configures the switch to generate NMI when operated.

No reset is generated in this case.
