RF Output Analog output
The Digital Monitor and Control provides the analog output voltage
correspondence to the RF output power. The conversion formula is:
V
o
= 10
(PdBm – 47.27)/19.05
or P
dBm
= 47.27 + 19.05
[log10(Vo)]
With P
dBm
= RF Output power in dBm
Waveguide Switch Connection
Waveguide switch control is an optional feature. Please refer to the logic
interconnect and outline drawing to determine if this feature is provided.
Table 3 Lists the Waveguide Switch Connector Pinouts. Figure 9 shows
the pin and socket layout of the Waveguide Switch Interface Connector
and the Waveguide Switch Mating Connector.
Legacy versus Updated Waveguide Switch interface:
The waveguide switch interface on some models of Xicom antenna
mount amplifiers has been updated to allow for easier customer setup of
1:2 redundant systems. The new interface reassigns some ground pins to
become system address detection pins, that are used by an HPA to
automatically configure itself to the correct system address. This
eliminates the need for the user to configure the system address
depending on the desired amplifier location in a redundant system, which
can often be confusing.
Determining Waveguide switch configuration installed in amplifier:
In addition to reassigning some pins for address detection, one ground
pin, U, has been reassigned to provide a +24 Volt output. This provides a
convenient method to determine which waveguide switch pinout
configuration is installed in a Xicom outdoor amplifier.
Pin U behavior:
Legacy WG Switch interface = Chassis Ground
Updated WG Switch interface = +24V
