Controls
This specification describes the control functions of the HPA. A limited number of control functions can
be applied locally from the front panel of the HPA as well as remotely via the serial interface. Some of the
control functions can only be applied via the local controls on the HPA. The following paragraphs specify
these control functions and the LOCAL/REMOTE capability. Details of the communication protocol for
serial control and the menu system for the local control are detailed in the operation and installation manual
for this product. Please refer to that document for detailed information.

Note: Heater Standby reduces the TWT’s heater voltage when the high voltage is off.
Using this mode significantly increases the life of the TWT where high voltage is off for
extended periods of time.
