Administer/Retrieve Usernames from Active Directory (Step 3a) 

ComSifter has the ability to integrate directly with Windows 2000/2003/2008 Server Active Directory. In this 
mode, ComSifter will make an LDAP query to the server and retrieve a list of filters and users in that filter. 

Note:

 

If NTLM is used as the authentication method (Step 1), it is necessary to also 
join the ComSifter to the Active Directory domain as a member (Step 2). See 
previous section for details. 

 

Preparing Active Directory for Synchronization 

Before this feature is enabled on the ComSifter, the following changes must first be made to Active Directory 
on the domain controller: 

1.  Add an Organizational Unit (OU) under the root of the domain. This OU must be named “

ComSifter

.”
