Block User or Computer 

ComSifter has the capability to block by User Name or by Computer IP address. This feature is useful in 
instances where you do not want a user or a computer to have access to the Internet. 

Block User 

The Block User command allows you to block a user by username, or to unblock a user by username. 

Note:

 

The username must already have been entered into the ComSifter via the User 
Management Utilities Step 3a (Active Directory) or Step 3b (ComSifter 
Username Database). 

Enable Block 

To block a user: 

  Set Function to 

Enable Block

. 

  Select the username to be blocked. 

 Click 

on 

Execute

.

Upon clicking Execute, ComSifter Filter Service will restart automatically. This 
may take up to 30 seconds and will disrupt other Internet users during the
