The Digit map entry field is where you will make any edits necessary for the Polycom IP 331 to work with your
specific PBX. Once you have completed any edits in this entry, you MUST press the Submit button to apply the
changes.
NOTE: Any edits you make to the default digit map will result in a 2-3 second
delay between when you dial a number and when the call is sent. The default
digit map will dial immediately.
edItIng tHe dIgIt MaP for outbound calls
If your PBX requires a digit to be dialed before you can place an outbound call, you will need to overwrite/edit
the digit map entry. The following code shows the digit map needed if your PBX requires the digit 9 to be entered
before allowing any outbound calls.
9[2-9]11|0T|9011xxx.T|
9
[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|
9
[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT
The digit 9 has been added before the two strings responsible for local and long distance calling in North America,
International calls, as well as the [2-9]11 numbers for many standard 3 digit outbound calls (911, 411,etc.) If your
PBX requires a different digit/digits to dial out, you can simply replace the 9s that were added with the digit/digits
specific to your PBX outbound requirements.
For example, if 8 is required to make outbound calls, the following code should be used to replace the default digit
map:
8[2-9]11|0T|8011xxx.T|
8
[0-1][2-9]xxxxxxxxx|
8
[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|[2-9]xxxT
