NOTE: The ICRI-2PE and ICRI-2PED are equipped with a telephone connector on the front of
the units. The RJ22 adapter (P/N 179.0805) is required to connect a cell phone cable or
telephone to the ICRI. This adapter will provide the user the ability connect a standard telephone
handset or cellular telephone, military STU/STE telephone.
Connecting a land-line telephone to the ICRI-2PE or ICRI-2PED
1.
Insert the Telephone Interface Adapter into the jack on the ICRI, labeled TELEPHONE.
NOTE: The Telephone Interface adapter plug and jack are “keyed” and must be aligned, before
inserting the plug.
2.
Tighten the locking ring on the adapter to secure it.
3.
Disconnect the coiled cable from the telephone’s handset; do not disconnect the cable
from the base of the telephone.
NOTE: Do not remove the telephone’s handset from its cradle
4.
Plug the disconnected end of the coiled cable into the modular jack on the Telephone
Interface Adapter

5.
Remove the telephone handset from the telephone base, a dial tone should be heard in the
earphones of the portable radio and in the earpiece of the ICRI’s "local" handset.
6.
Dial the telephone number of another telephone.
7.
When the remote telephone party answers, they will be heard in the ICRI’s handset.
