Offline operation
If the cell terminal loses the connection to the Intercom Server (offline), the EB8E4A will save the initi-
ated calls and sabotage alarms. In offline operation, all input and output functions are still available
(e.g. activation of the call, call park and attendance function). Even if the cell terminal itself is cut off
from its power supply, the cell calls, emergency calls and sabotage alarms that had been issued are
preserved.
Offline cell call
If the connection to the Intercom Server has been disconnected, the lamp in the front of the cell still
indicates calls. As soon as the connection between cell terminal and Intercom Server is established, the
system transmits the unacknowledged calls to the control desk immediately. After a successful call
initiation, the cell lamp turns off.
Additionally, it is possible to acknowledge a cell call in offline mode. Carry out the following configu-
ration in CCT 800 to activate the function “Acknowledging offline cell calls”:

Offline emergency call
If the prisoner initiates an emergency call in offline operation, the lamp in front of the cell does not light
permanently but blinks in one-second intervals (also applies for online operation). This ensures that
emergency calls will be indicated in front of the cell if the Intercom Server is not available. As soon as
a connection between the cell terminal and the Intercom Server is established, the system transmits
the unacknowledged emergency calls to the control desk. After a successful call initiation, the cell lamp
turns off.
Additionally, it is possible to acknowledge an emergency call in offline mode. Carry out the following
configuration in CCT 800 to activate the function “Acknowledging offline emergency calls”:

Note:
To acknowledge cell calls, emergency calls and sabotage alarms in the offline operation, it is necessary to
activate the attendance function (
see ”Attendance function” on page 14
).
Note:
For the cell call in offline operation, no configuration is required.
If a cell call was initiated in offline operation, output “OUT1” will be switched.
Note:
For the emergency call in offline operation, no configuration is required.
If an emergency call was initiated in offline operation, output “OUT1” will be switched on and off in 500
ms intervals.
