flat on vehicle seat bottom and seat back is in contact
with vehicle seat back

Thread vehicle lap belt

or vehicle lap and shoulder
belt

through the forward-facing
belt path identified by the red “Belt Here”
arrows and buckle seat belt.
Tighten lap belt to remove all slack
(fig. c)
. Final tightening will occur in
a later step.
NOTE
: For lap and shoulder belt with
switchable retractor, it is
acceptable but not required
to switch the shoulder belt
retractor into the locking
mode.
Locate the tether anchor
(fig. d)
for the seating location
being used.
NOTE:
Check vehicle owners manual
for tether anchor location. DO
NOT use cargo tie downs or
other attachment points not
intended for use with car seats.
