1 GENERAL INFORMATION
The RA-7100 Dual-Band Fiber Optic Repeater (hereinafter called “RA-7100”) is designed for 850MHz
and 1900MHz networks. It provides flexible and scalable solution of multi-operator coverage
extension applications, such as citywide enhancement, highway, canyons, campus, underground
tunnels, airports, convention centres, etc.
The low signal transmission loss of optical fiber is applicable for long distance transmission. RA-7100
can support the optical transmission of up to 6.5dB signal transmission loss. There is no isolation
problem between TX and RX antennas, which means customer can select the antenna flexibly
according to the real situation, such as directional or omni-directional antenna.
Main feature:
•
High output power with high linearity, which supports multiple carrier operation and ensures the
signal source is of good quality.
•
Optical fiber transmission with long distance transition at the most path loss of 6.5dB.
•
Automatic Gain Control (AGC
1
): In latest RA repeater system, in optical TX/RX module has been
implemented with the AGC function.
•
Local Operation and Maintenance Terminal (OMT): operating status and parameters can be set
or monitored by OMT PC locally. And the point-to-point setting and inquiry between MU and RU is
realizable through the integrated wireless modem, which makes it convenient for on-site
configuration.
•
Operation Maintenance Center (OMC): system working parameters and communication
configuration can be set or inquired remotely through the integrated wireless modem. If alarm is
generated, the equipment will dial up to OMC automatically in the mode of SMS or datalink.
•
Build-in Li-ion battery ensures that alarm information can automatically report to OMC in case of
equipment power failure.
•
RU is designed for all-weather outdoor operation - waterproof, damp-proof and omni-sealed.
1
It will adjust the optical receiver gain automatically. The AGC function will help to stable the transmission path
gain and simplifies the link budget calculation and commissioning. This is obvious convenience comparing to the
last platform, which requires gain adjustment manually.
* The new function needn’t to be set or triggered manually by OMT and will be activated automatically whenever
the repeater is on.
* Optical gain adjustable range: 0~6.5dB (equivalents to 0~13dB RF gain)
