13.2 Common Command Summary
To comply with Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) 1999 standards, the
MTP1000 provides the following common commands.

Command *CLS
Syntax *CLS
Description Clears data structures in the Message Queues (Output and Error)
Parameters None
Response None

Command *IDN?
Syntax *IDN?
Description Query the device for manufacturer information strings
Parameters None
Response Comma separated string containing the <manufacturer>, <part number>, <serial
number>,<hardware version><firmware version>
Example
*IDN? -> “Coherent Solutions,MTP1000-OLS,CSL-1170,HW1.0FW2.2”
Note : Hardware and firmware versions are combined and not separated by a comma
Command *OPC?
Syntax *OPC?
Description Query the Operation Complete status
Parameters None
Response

: If the MTP1000 and all VOABlade modules are ready to execute commands.
0
: If the MTP1000 or any VOABlade modules still have commands in the input queue to be
executed.
Example
*OPC? -> 0
Command *OPT?
Syntax *OPT?
Description Query the modules installed on the slot
Parameters None
Response The response will be a comma separated string containing the part numbers of the installed
VOABlade modules. If a slot is not occupied by a module, it will not return any string.
Example
*OPT? -> “VOABlade-1-2-C-S-89,VOABlade-1-2-C-S-89,,,VOABlade-1-
2-A-S-89,,,,”
In the example, there are identical model VOABlade modules in slot1 and slot2 and a
different model VOABlade in slot5. Slot3, slot4 and slot6 to slot9 are all currently empty.
