for use.
Ironing
ATTENTION!
■
Please note that synthetic
fi
bres, nylon and silk are not ironed with steam. These
textiles could be damaged as a result!
■
Never hold the steam burst button down for longer than 5 seconds at a time to pre-
vent water from leaking out of the soleplate.
■
There must be suf
fi
cient water present in the water tank in order for the steam burst
button to be used.
■
Never point the steam directly at people, animals or plants. This can lead to serious
scalds.
1. For steam ironing,
fi
ll the water tank (
7
) with water (see section “Filling the water
tank”). This does not have to be done when dry ironing.
2. Set the On/Off switch for the heat function of the soleplate (
C
) to position
I
(soleplate
on).
3. For steam ironing, set the temperature control (
2
) to high (
•••
) up to maximum tem-
perature. Steam ironing is possible in this area. (Refer to the care label of the fabric
you wish to iron!)
4. The temperature control light (
3
) will go out once the device has reached the set
temperature.
5. For steam ironing, set the On/Off switch for the heat function of the water tank (
A
) to
position
I
(steam emission on). For dry ironing, set the On/Off switch for the heat func-
tion of the water tank (
A
) to position
0
(steam emission off). The iron is ready for use.
6. Take the iron and move the soleplate (
9
) back and forth across the fabric until it is
smooth. Use the device like a conventional iron.
7. If the water tank is empty (
7
), no more steam will be produced. Follow the instructions
in the section “Filling the water tank” to re
fi
ll it.
Steam burst / vertical steam ironing
ATTENTION!
■
When ironing vertically, make sure that there is enough space around the piece of
clothing you intend to iron. Vertical ironing shall only be applied if the piece of clothing
is hanging on a coat hanger and cannot come in contact with other pieces of clothing,
objects, persons or animals.
■
Only iron the laundry where there is no risk of heat and moisture in
fl
icting damage,
e.g. NOT in front of wallpaper, windows or mirrors.
In addition to conventional ironing, the iron can also emit a strong steam burst, e.g. for
smoothing stubborn wrinkles or hanging textiles.
