5.8 Automatic shut-off feature
• To preserve battery life, the meter has an auto shut-off feature. If the function
selector is not turned within 15 minutes, the meter turns itself off.
• The buzzer sounds about 5 times in final minute before the meter shuts off and
ends with one final long buzz.
• The meter can be turned on again by pressing any of the buttons or turning
the function selector.
• Deactivate the auto shut-off as follows: Hold down [ Select ] when switching
the meter on.
6. Changing batteries
Change batteries when
is shown on the display.
Warning:
Disconnect the test leads from the test object and the meter and make sure that
the clamp is not near a conductor before changing the battery.
1. Turn the meter off and remove
the test leads.
2. Unscrew the battery cover.
3. Slide the battery cover 1–2 cm
in the direction of the arrow
and remove it.
4. Remove the old battery and
insert a new 9 V battery (6F22)
observing the correct polarity.
5. Replace the battery cover and
tighten the screw.
