5.4 Continuity test
Warning:
Before measuring the continuity of a circuit, first shut the power off and
make sure that any capacitors in the circuit are discharged.
5.5 Frequency measurement
Warning:
In order to avoid personal injury or damage to the meter, do not measure
voltages over 600 V DC or 600 V AC RMS.
1. Connect the black test lead to
the COM input terminal and the red
test lead to the upper input terminal.
2. Set the function selector to
.
3. Press [ Select ] until you enter
the Continuity Test mode ( should
appear on the right of the display).
4. Connect the test leads to the circuit.
If the resistance is less than 50 Ω,
the buzzer will sound. The buzzer
emits a low-volume signal at resistan-
ces of 50–100 Ω. If the circuit is open
(no continuity) creating a resistance
greater than 100 Ω, the buzzer will
not sound.
5. Disconnect the test leads.
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM
input terminal and the red test lead to
the upper input terminal.
2. Set the function selector to
.
3. The Frequency measurement function
is preselected (
should be shown on
the right of the display).
4. Connect the test leads to the circuit.
5. Disconnect the test leads.
Frequency measurement ranges
• 10 Hz, 100 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz, 100 kHz,
1 MHz and 10 MHz.
•
appears on the display if
the measured value is outside the limits
of the measuring range and an accurate
reading cannot be displayed.
