Arc/TIG 155
a. GREEN LED
ON - Power ON
OFF - Power OFF. Also indicates that overvoltage or
undervoltage has occurred. Reset by switching OFF,
waiting 20 seconds, then switching back ON.
The LED will flash for a short period after switching OFF.
NOTE: that if the set current is too low for the electrode in use, the LED could
extinguish. For correct welding currents for a particular electrode size, see
the
chart on page 18.
b. AMBER LED
ON - Thermal overload has intervened, switching OFF
the machine. Allow to cool down. The LED will
extinguish once the unit has cooled sufficiently to
continue.
If the Amber LED is ON, and the Green LED is flashing,
the unit has stopped due to over or undervoltage. The
unit will continue to check the line voltage and
automatically reset once the acceptable voltage is
detected.
A. ARC WELDING
(Refer to Fig 1.)
An Arc welding kit is supplied with this machine. The kit comprises all necessary cables,
plus a hand shield and wire brush with chipping pick.
TIG welding kits, designed specifically for this machine, are available from your CLARKE
dealer.
To prepare the unit for ARC welding, it is important that you follow the procedure
below.
1. With the ON/OFF switch, located on the
rear panel, in the OFF position, connect
the welding leads as follows:
Welding Electrode lead to the +ve
terminal
Work Clamp lead to the -ve terminal.
2. Attach the work clamp to the
workpiece - as close as possible to
the area being welded. Clean with
a wire brush where necessary to
ensure the connection is as clean as
possible.
