Banks and Channels
Each channel is identified by a letter—A, B, and C for CPU 1, and D, E, and F for CPU 2. Each channel
has eight DIMM slots numbered 0 through 7.
Each bank is identified by numbers, 0 through 7. For example, DIMM slots A1, B1, and C1 belong to
Bank 1, while A2, B2, C2 belong to Bank 2.
Figure 3-12 shows how DIMM slot banks and channels are physically arranged on the motherboard.
