You can use Telnet or a console to connect to your Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960G and 7940G, and you
can and use the command-line interface (CLI) to debug or troubleshoot the phone.
Table 5-1
shows the
available CLI commands and their syntax.
Note
•
You need the phone IP address to use the CLI in a Telnet session. To get the IP address, select
Settings > Network Configuration > IP Address
. The default Telnet password is “cisco.”
•
You can conduct only two Telnet sessions at any time.
•
The phone cannot originate a Telnet session to another address.
