Mounting receiver boxes on the ceiling surface

Surface mounting works with mounting bracket (P/N: 174-106108-XX) or an equivalent mounting

fixture.
Surface mounting can be completed with existing 101.6 mm (4 inches) junction box and hanger. The
hanger and junction box must have minimum load capability 22.7 kg (50 lbs).

Caution! If not avoided, the following could result in minor or moderate injury.

•

Ensure load wires and anchoring comply to local building regulations and codes.

•

Ensure load wires are connected between the receiver box, mounting structure, and the load
bearing surface (higher than the tile) according to local building regulations and codes.

•

Ensure load wires are connected between the receiver box and junction box or according to local
building regulations and codes.

1. Ensure the power is turned off at the source.
2. Remove the two adjacent ceiling panels where the junction box will be installed, leaving the T-

bar between them accessible.

3. Remove the tile where you plan to install the receiver box and cut a round hole for the junction

box.

4. Install the ceiling tile you cut the hole in from step 3.
5. Install the junction box flush with ceiling panel.

6. Using two screws, mount the crossbar and cover plate on the junction box.
