3.1 PC6 Particle Counter 45
Laser Condition Percentage readout reflecting changes in laser operating current. This value is pro-
vided for diagnostic information only. Laser current will change as a function of laser temperature
and age. The laser percentage will increase over the lifetime of the laser and also when ambient
air or water temperature increases. With yearly calibrations, a laser percentage between 90 to
110% is considered normal.
Cell Condition Percentage readout reflecting the cleanliness of the sensor. The sensor should be
cleaned after there has been a 10% decrease following the previous cleaning. Note: Changes in
temperature which affect the laser percentage will also have an effect on the cell percentage.
When the laser percentage drops as a function of cooler temperatures, a corresponding drop in
the cell percentage is to be expected. With yearly calibrations, a cell percentage between 90% to
110% after cleaning is considered normal.
The following sections describe the functionality found in the pop-up menu that appears when
selecting “Options”.
3.1.5.1 Sensor Setup
Sensor settings are accessed by selecting:
Options → Setup → Sensor Setup
Name Edit the sensor name used to identify the sensor. Up to 25 characters.
Display Options are “Show” or “Hide”. This relates to whether the tile for this sensor will show on the
Menu screen.
Enabled Options are “Yes” or “No”. If “No” is selected the sensor will not update and will not generate
alarms.
Flow Signal
Allows a flow switch to be associated with a sensor. Options are “Disabled” or selectable
from a list of available digital inputs.
