Administrators Using Dynamic Tokens
Pointsec PC supports any dynamic token that supports the ANSI X.9.9
security standard if the DES algorithm is used together with these tokens.
To create an administrator account that uses a dynamic token:
1. In the Add user dialog box, select the
Dynamic token
option. The
Settings area displays the dynamic token options:

Open File
, browse to the
token.imp
file, delivered with your
token(s), and open it. The following dialog box opens:
3. Enter the key you received from Pointsec, the key will decrypt the
information in the import file, and click
OK
. The Select Key (token)
dialog box opens.
4. Look for the serial number that is printed on the back of your token
and find that number in the list displayed. Select the number and click
OK
.
5. If the second administrator account is to use a fixed password, see
“Administrator Accounts Using Fixed Passwords” on page 27
. If the
second account is to use the same type of dynamic token as you just
specified, repeat the instructions above, click
Next
and then see
“Specifying Volumes, Encryption Methods, and the Recovery Path” on
page 30
Note -
Pointsec PC does not save information about your encryption
keys for either the tokens or import files. If the information is lost, the
import file will be unusable, and all password tokens not yet imported
will be unusable until reprogrammed.
