11.2.3 Loss of a V-NET locking medium
In V-NET, locking media that are no longer supposed to be used are not deleted but rather
blocked
. The
information that a locking medium is blocked is stored in the locking medium. The locking devices contain
block lists
that contain the blocked locking media. Every time an authorisation is attempted, the following
occurs:
l
The locking device checks whether the locking medium is blocked. Only non-blocked locking media
are accepted.
l
If a locking medium is not blocked but it is on the block list, the locking device sends the information
to the locking medium indicating that this medium is blocked.
OMEGA Client has multiple ways of blocking a locking medium.
