2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
The head is supplied with an automatic, quick fit male coupler suitable for connection to
a hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical pump from the
Cembre
range.
2.2) Positioning
Position the head on the nut as illustrated in Fig. 1:
–
Ensure that the blade only cuts on the face of the nut and not on the washer.
– Incorrect positioning can cause blade damage.
– Never use the head for slackening or tightening nuts.
2.3) Splitting
(Ref. to Fig. 2)
– Connect the head to a suitable pump; operate the pump to advance the blade and split
one side of the nut.
– Cease the pumping action when the split in the nut is visible (Fig. 2a) and retract the
blade (see § 2.4).
– Rotate the head by 180° and repeat the pumping action until the opposite side of the
nut is split (Fig. 2b); the nut is now completly split and can be easily removed without
damaging the bolt thread.
2.4) Retracting the blade
Release the oil pressure from the pump and fully retract the blade.
