Using MANUAL FOCUS with QUAD LOCK
Although the
QUAD LOCK
system can be used to automatically switch between focus
points in a scene with varying
TRANSITION
times, it also has additional functionality when
used with
MANUAL FOCUS
either from the
R1
or the optional Tilta Nucleus Focus Wheel.
To access this additional functionality you must first invoke it using a
long press
of the
LOW TRIG
on the
R1.
When the additional mode is activated you will see
QL:
followed by the currently selected
MEMORY
target
.
Pressing the
A,B,C
or
D
button on the
R1
will change the target and the
QL:
display will be updated accordingly.
Using this mode, when you use
MANUAL FOCUS
, the AFX will automatically stop
sending any further focus commands when the currently selected
MEMORY
target point
has been reached.
In this way, you can have the additional control of moving the focus manually with the
benefit of being prevented from overshooting the target focus point.
To resume
MANUAL FOCUS
control, you now either choose another
MEMORY
target
point using the
A,B,C
or
D
buttons on the
R1
or exiting the additional mode using a
long
press
of the
LOW TRIG
The combination of the
AF-S,AF-C,MANUAL FOCUS
and
QUAD LOCK
modes provide a
comprehensive set of focus tools so we would encourage you to spend some time
exploring them to supplement the primary
AUTOFOCUS
functions of the AFX.
