Drug Library. To
access the Guardrails

Drug Library, a hospital-defined best-
practice data set must be transferred using Guardrails
®

Software and the Profiles feature must be enabled.
1. Perform following steps (reference PC Unit Section of this

, "General Setup and Operation", "Start-Up"):
a. Power on system.
b. Choose Yes or No to New Patient?
c. Confirm current profile or select a new profile.
d. Enter patient identifier, if required.
2. Prepare and load syringe/administration set (reference
"Getting Started").
3. Prime (reference "Getting Started").

When the pressure sensing
disc is not being used and an
occlusion occurs, there is a risk
of infusing pressurized buildup
of infusates upon correction of the
occlusion. To avoid an inadvertent
bolus, relieve the pressure before
restarting the infusion.
