Routine Maintenance

Cleaning the Printer

With routine use, paper dust and room dust may accumulate around the paper output tray 
and other parts of the printer. Clean the printer periodically.

• To avoid personal injury from burns or electrical shock or damage to the 

printer during cleaning, do not use a flammable solvent such as thinner, 
benzene, or alcohol.

• To avoid personal injury from touching printer components, always unplug 

the printer before cleaning.

• Do not unplug the power cord when the POWER light is on or flashing. 

This may damage the printer.

Press the POWER button (

) to turn the printer off. Check the POWER 

light and make sure that it is not on or blinking.

Make sure that the POWER light is off, then unplug the power cord from the 
power outlet.
